When I posted the link it took you directly to the chart I was referring to now it just goes to the general results page. Anyway the chart I was referring to was the 1st race last Friday at Thunder Ridge. I think they run Thur-Sat or something close to that. The 2nd race had 7 dollars bet all on one horse. The other 4 horses had no money bet on them.

no, its listed as a pari-mutuel track. now that you mention it i think ive seen higher purses at the Oswego County (NY) fair ~1st week in July every year. with any luck ill be there again this year. one of about 35 people taking it all in-looking for someone, anyone to give me some action on those old nags

i love playing tracks with small win pools because you can get massive win overlays.. obviously you have to stay away from exotics, but thats why small harness tracks are great

From yesterday Race 1 $4 in win pool and $2 was on the winner. Race 4 had $33 total in the straight pools. It looks like they had their own version of a bridgejumper ( $25 show maybe?) 6 horse field only , only 2 horses had bets on them. The winner paid $2.20 win $0 to place and $21.20 to show. The bridgejumper horse broke on the lead and ran last.

Question - if the Tote takeout is the major source of funding for all American tracks - how the hell can Thunder Ridge make a profit on its business model ?
