    Chester Downs-Friday Night
another season of south eastern pa's finest harness racing gets underway friday night in chester @ harrahs casino.
i love nighttime racing and have yet to go to a card under the lights at chester but ive made a resolution to be there on opening night.
anyone else planning on being in attendance? ill be in need of a tip or two im sure and could use all the help i can get.....
    sneak peek at the entries:

chester will benefit from the meadowlands closing on 4/1. they pretty much took most of it away from m' anyway. the trouble is it's a 5/8 mile track. not the end of the world. but they need to add dime superfecta's to lure a whole new customer base. it's out there and once you've bet dimes, it's tough to go back to dollar minimums.

i like 5/8's racing , the turns arent quite so severe that you can race a horse from an outside post and there is quite a bit of action more horses pulling at the 1/8 th pole as opposed to our lazy single file woodbine dashes thats why the bigm rules

good luck with the horse on fri cec

real nice setting with the delaware river as the backdrop to the races

you got that right! nickel/dime machines upstairs in the casino but not downstairs in the 'lowly' racetrack. and while we're on it: i dare ya....no, i double dog dare ya to find a t-shirt, fridge magnet or even a free pencil there that says "chester downs". quite odd. i know where i rank there......but i still love it.

*thanks DaHoss-feel free to post any picks/thoughts for chester ahead of time in this thread-always appreciate another point of view. after all-its what makes the world go around

Are they experimenting with the night racing at Chester Downs?
The horseracing is nice but the casino looks rundown already. Feels like you're in a big barn.

i tried that and i end up feeling like im forcing myself to make a pick...then i lose and of course feel like crap for posting chit picks...its a deadly cycle.
im trying to develop a more subtle approach to horse capping. now if i could only pullout a $20 to Show on any given selection rather than $2. those $5.60 to place would become $56 but id feel like a real heel when said pick doesnt hit the board and im out 5 or 10 races worth of $2 show bets.....

as for last night: i was up a few dollars, down a few dollars but came away +$ when Speed McQueen won the finale at the meadows (i had $2 to w/p on him if that gives you any inclination of the massive amount of $ i spend playing ponies)

Secret Image in the 12th?....we wont even got here right now the horse is having issues and im not sure what the problem is.

*Brewers-great meeting you and we'll hafta do that again real soon. too much fun watching my degenerate buddy pacing/circling with a fistfull of tickets from just about every track-isnt it?

i snuck a peek at the fridays entries and here's what i like so far for Chester-April 8th, 2011:

                                          r1: #7 Dandy Di
                                          r2: #2 Youth Uprising
r3:#7 I Look Special- TT driving Pena training. no brainer.
                                          r4: #2 Red River B
                                          r5: #1 Shayna Babay
                                          r6: #4 Home Stretch
r7: #7 AJ Corbelli but keep 3/4/6 in mind as well. im a softie for a Hartline trained horse-and his Roman nose can get around the oval with the best of them.
                                          r8:#8 Lenny K
r9: 3/4 exacta box as i cant decide on a favorite Winning Mister or Anders Bluestone-too close to call.

                                          r11: #5 Premier Flash
r12: 2/3 exacta box as i cant pick a winner here. Standing Tough with TT driving and Life Up Front with David Miller in the bike. your call...
r13: #5 She Just Rocks-Woodbine invader with Yannick set for the drive.

bol and if ya see a dude with a "hartline racing" hat take it off and start pulling his hair out, chances are that will be me.
