    BridgeJumper Crap
Last week at Aqueduct I bet a horse in the 2nd race. There was around $200,000 in the show pool for this horse alone. I bet $1,000 to show since I'm thinking I could get $25 in rewards cash for the horse play. At the last minute I bet $20 on the next choice to show. My $1,000 horse runs out of the money. The other horse wins and pays $20 to show. The other horses paid $40 and $60 to show. I lost $800 on the race. For sure it will be the last time I ever do such a dumb thing.

Sorry you lost. I think your idea/strategy was correct and took a lot of balls to make that bet. I know I couldn't do it.

Tell me about it. Normally, if I have $1,000 in my account, I'm good. Dumb move on my part. For awhile I've been chasing the other way. I was playing the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th choice to show. The bridgejumper always managed to come in. I remember one time like in 95/96 I was betting harness at the Meadowlands (simulcast). There were like either 3 or 4 #1's (#1, 1A,1B, and 1C). At the very least there were 3. One of the horses name was Indiana Sam. All of the 1's ran out of the money. Two of the horses that hit the board paid over $100 to show and the other like $80. Live and learn.

I saw the same thing at Santa Anita a couple weeks ago and the horse ran out. Nothing is sure in horse racing

It is called Bridge Jumping for a reason, and anyone who involves themselves in it is soon to be parted with his money. As you know you lose one of these and you spend the rest of your time chasing to get it back and that's assuming you don't miss again if you continue to go the bridge jumping route.

            I agree CK.
Seen it happen numerous times down @ Los AL during their summertime/weekend races.
Sometimes management even decides to close the "show pool" on such occasions.
Gotta be value somewhere else in those particular races?

War Pass is going to race Sunday in 60,000 ALLOWANCE. The show pool on War Pass should be unreal. There will be a lot of bridge jumpers that will empty their bank accounts to bet this horse Sunday
