    Lets talk Breeders Crown
Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, Plains Township

    When: 5 p.m., Saturday

Included in Saturday night’s lineup are the winners of harness racing’s two most prestigious races – the Hambletonian and Little Brown Jug – and harness racing’s all-time winningest driver in John Campbell.
Not only will the night’s races feature just about every top horse from every division in harness racing, some of the most famous horses in the world will be making an appearance.

The Budweiser Clydesdales will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday before the racing begins at 5.

And one lucky fan will get to drive away in a $70,000 Corvette that the track is raffling off. One catch, though, you have to be present to win.

All that, and the event is free to the public.

For the drivers and trainers, however, it’s the racing surface that really matters.

“I think every horseman that races at Pocono Downs will acknowledge that it’s one of the most horse-friendly tracks around,” said trainer Bruce Saunders, who will have Little Brown Jug champion Rock N Roll Heaven running Saturday night.

            1st
Hands down #7 will be the choice of most meaning odds will be 2/5. Morning line should be that! I believe she raced here earlier and burned alot of money. 3-5

            2nd
Wide open so...... I'll try 3-5 again

            3rd
#3 Big/Strong probably will take awhile to get going and then...it's over Zeron said horse likes surface so I'll play 2/3

            4th
#4 and #7 ranked 3rd and 6th and I'll hope Lucky Charlie is unlucky and play a 1/7

            5th
See You at Peelers no that isn't a local bar that is #1 who is 12-12 lifetime but #2 is 7-7 and my choice. Play is 1/2 but probably won't pay enough to buy a six-pack.....

            6th
#3 Flew off gate and never got pressured
            #2 another wire-wire last week
            3/2
BTW Broad Bahn would've given these 2 a run but fractured ankle last week so if your looking for value try # 8 as Takter entries will probably gwt alot of "local" money

            7th
            6 with _ _

            8th
#3 Perfect drive/trip again probably with Tetrick.... 3/5

            9th
            2/3
            10th
            1/7
            11th
            5/8
            12th
            4/5
            13th
            327
            14th
            #1/all???

BTW 3-1 in NFL lets take the Colts

suprising they are holding this a 5/8 mile track. mohegan sun must be kicking in with some money since they own pocono downs now.

Mohegan buying this from Penn National about 4-5 years ago was a re-start for the Racing which was the stop for most owners and their ponies near the end and I don't mean retiring to breed. Maybe some still stop before heading to Monticello or to Never ever thought I'd see the Breeders Crown but here they are. Won't see as many as they do for the Pocono 500 but I'm planning an early start...............

Put a new life into the night life in the ole "Valley with a Heart"! Haven't heard that in awhile or seen much of it lately either....... Times they are a chang-in.....

If I don't get lucky I'm sure it'll be fun. Going to be a beautiful day. Early Post @ 5:00

                  Pandy's Breeders Crown analysis
                  POCONO DOWNS, SATURDAY, OCTOBER 9
RACE 1, OLDER MARE TROT, Pandy's Picks: 7-3-1-5
Here we go 5 p.m. post and a terrific card. 7-BUCK I ST PAT left and then had to go first over at Delaware, a very tough trip over that speed favoring track. 46 time winner is the class and she can take this on or off the pace. 3-YURSA HANOVER only has 3 wins this year but she is quick and speed is dangerous over this lightning fast Pocono Downs track.
RACE 2, OLDER OPEN TROT, Pandy's Picks: 6-2-5-1
6-LUCKY JIM has not been the same horse this year as he was at 4 but he came back with a sharp off-the-pace win over Buck I St Pat last start and should be fresh and fit. 2-SLAVE DREAM is a strong closer, beat similar in the Nat Ray. 5-ENOUGH TALK has tailed off, hasn't raced since Sept. 17 but he has come back strong from a freshening before. 1-HOT SHOT BLUE CHIP won impressively against weaker over this track last month.
                  RACE 3, 2YO FILLY TROT Pandy's Picks: 7-3-1-9
7-CELEBRITY KATIE showed sharp speed leaving in last and was coming back on late. She may be some value in one of the most contentious races on the card.
                  RACE 4, 3YO TROT, Pandy's Picks: 4-3-7-5
4-LUCKY CHUCKY went a game uncovered trip to finish 2nd in the Hambletonian but has since gone on a tear just as he did in his 2yo season. He looks tough to beat at a short price. 3-FLEX THE MUSCLE has been crushing weaker but this colt's handiness and speed has to be respected. MUSCLE MASSIVE good looker won the Hambo off a perfect trip and drive by Pierce.
                  RACE 5, 2YO FILLY PACE, Pandy's Picks: 1-2-8-6.
1-SEE YOU AT PEELERS is undefeated in 12 starts and I was impressed the way she tracked a blazing pace last time then had plenty left. 2-IDYLLIC makes this a potentially great race. She is undefeated in 7 career starts and last week she blasted to the top in :26.3, set a quick half, shook off a third quarter bid then held off the closers gamely. 8-STRIKE AN ATTITUDE went a big mile last week, she was parked uncovered a long way against Idyllic and held well considering. It seems likely that she'll race off the pace and this is a tough spot but the pace should be fast and she can finish strongly. 6-MYLUVMYLIFE has been racing well and has tactical speed.
                  RACE 6, 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS TROT, Pandy's Picks: 9-5-3-2.
9-MANOFMANYMISSIONS broke at the start in first stat over the track, recovered and caught the field, made up a ton of ground to reach contention then was roughed gaited again in the lane while showing sharp speed when flat. I think this colt may be the fastest trotter here but he has to A). stay on stride, and B). overcome the outside post. 5-PASTOR STEPHEN can leave or finish and is in top trotting hands of trainer Jimmy Takter and driver Yannick Gingras. 3-DEJARMBO has shown a lot of class winning without cover on the outside but left and wired his elimination field last week, tough. 2-BIG RIGS is hard to knock and should be involved in the pace.
                  RACE 8, 2YO COLTS & GELDINGS PACE, Pandy's Picks: 7-2-4-1.
7-BIG JIM raced very well in his elimination. He was actually outside on the first turn before tucking in 3rd and paced his first quarter in :26.2 after the front runner put up a :25.4 opening fraction. He brushed first over and took the clubhouse turn a bit wide then powered to the lead and went to the three quarters in 1:21.3. Two colts that are in this race out-kicked him but Big Jim held gamely for third, only a length behind. I thought this was a huge effort. First of all, the race was the 13th race of the night and the temperature by that time was in the mid to high 40's (52 degrees at post time). The fractions in this race were exceptionally fast for 2yo pacers under the conditions. Big Jim was used to establish his early position, then used hard to wrest the lead away from the pace setter. His :29.3 final quarter was respectable considering the pace and trip. In his prior start, a win in the Champlain at Mohawk, he was used hard to get the lead and came home in :26.3. This is a fast colt who can finish and I'll take him to upset. 2-FASHION DELIGHT will be the favorite and the Wilson winner has been brilliant. In the Wilson at the Meadowlands he showed that he can overcome a tough trip as he rallied from post 9. There are a few horses that could take advantage of a hot pace here in this potentially wide open race. 4-SHADYSHARK HANOVER was 2nd behind Big Jim at Mohawk then upset from off the pace last week and he has one of the best off-the-pace drivers in the sport, Jim Morrill, Jr. 1-WESTWARDHO HANOVER broke stride in last but recovered and finished fast, rapidly coming into his own.
                  RACE 9, 2YO FILLY TROTTERS, Pandy's Picks: 1-2-4-8.
1-BEHINDCLOSEDOORS set a blazing pace and bottomed out the competition last week. She has benefited from the switch to 5/8's tracks. 2-ULTIMATE CAMERON is on a roll now and has also improved on the smaller tracks. 4-SPICY WINGS has some fast final quarters and if the top one runs out of steam she could be along. 8-UP FRONT JUANSTEEN held well uncovered in last.
RACE 10, OLDER MARE PACE, Pandy's Picks: 8-1-4-7.
8-ON THE GLASS made a nice move to get the lead, yielded to a retake by 1-NOT ENOUGH, chased a hot pace and held okay. I'll take a shot at a price in a very tough race despite the post. NOT ENOUGH came off a layoff and showed strong speed in a game two move win…4-DREAMFAIR ETERNAL is an outstanding mare and she can win this first over or off a cover trip…7-SOUTHWIND TEMPO can leave or finish.
                  RACE 11, 3YO FILLY PACE, Pandy's Picks: 2-3-1-6.
2-HIGHER AND HIGHER has raced extremely well over this track, upset call. 3-PUT ON A SHOW lost in the Mistletoe Shalee but she has 18 wins in 22 starts and should be tough to deny here.
RACE 12, OLDER OPEN PACE, Pandy's Picks: 1-5-4-2.
1-SHARK GESTURE has been freshened up and he has the rail and more tactical speed than his main rivals. 5-WON THE WEST went a huge parked-out trip in last at Harrington; classy grinder can take all. 4-HYPNOTIC BLUE CHIP had tough posts in last two starts but he is a threat from this slot.
                  RACE 13, 3YO COLT & GELDING PACE, Pandy's Picks: 3-4-2-7.
3-ROCK N ROLL HEAVEN is one of the toughest favorites on the card. He came off a world record two heat win in the Jug with a strong elimination here and he proved that he doesn't need the lead to win.

                  Lastly.....

Top win price in Breeders Crown 2009 was $12.60 and......

4th as a 2 yr old Pilgrims Taj with Mike Lachance beat Lucky Chucky in the Fillie Final...uhm

top price at last years Breeders Crown was..... place

                  6 Ultimate Cameron Michel Lachance 43.80 17.50
