I would much rather know that a horse is dead, than one is alive.

I've been buying hay for horses for a long time , live horses and dead ones , the dead ones don't eat that much !!

you can win money if you can LAY a horse

so you have to have a betfair account or wait for laws to change in america

I found laying horses much tougher than backing them to win ...

Low profits for big risk if you are on the rank outsiders .. horses that are sent off @ sp at around 10-1 - you need to lay at closer to 16-1 to get the action. horses that are 30-1 - you need to offer 60-1 on ..... Its not nearly as easy as you might think ... would you be comfortable laying a 10-1 shot for $10 and risking a payout of $160-$200 to win $10. ?

..... much easier finding a horse that you know will shorten up or drift out ion price or be the front runner or come from behind ... and trade live in-running rather than back or lay ...

yup - laying shorter prices was much better ... and I was doing quite well for a couple of months - until I realized that once i'd found a weak favorite .... 75% of the job was done - and now there were some decent price horses left on the card to make a decent profit from.

I guess I just could never get my head fully around laying .... did you ever read the ebook "False Favourites" ?

I don't see the laws changing anytime soon. Wish they would.
