Fly Down is definitely the one to beat in this group
Zito, who trains Fly Down for owner Richard Pell then he’s definitely my horse to finish in the Top 2. Ice Box, his stable mate, has the type of running style that could lead to an off the board finish.Fly Down stamped himself a serious player for the Belmont with a dominant six-length victory in the Dwyer here on May 8. Trainer Nick Zito has since shipped the Mineshaft colt to Saratoga to train. In his first work since the Dwyer, Fly Down was timed by clockers in a first quarter of 24.80 seconds and a second quarter in 24.60. He galloped out five furlongs in 1:02.60. Maxine Correa was up for the work.Fly Down will hang behind the speed and then turn on the jets from about 5 lengths behind.Fly Down is definitely the one to beat in this group.... He can stalk and close with a pretty good burst His latest work and the fact that he won a good race on this track means tons.Given the distance and his style,.. Ice Box would seem a natural in a 1-1/2M race. However, deep closers don't do as well in this race as you might think ...Ice Box is going to be at least 10 lengths behind,That’s a huge tactical advantage for Fly Down. I’ll be surprised if he doesn’t win the race much less finish in the Top 2
