              That all depends on the money bet on the place and show pools and how much on a particular horse.

                its difficult to get an accurate payout on place and show because there is a variable of who the other horse(s) are to hit the board... if there is 5,000 in the place pool and the horse you bet has 600 on him, his place price is dependant on who else finishes in the top 2 as well.. say there is a 20% takeout, you have $4,000 left in the place pool, if your horse wins or places and, say, a horse with 1400 in the place pool does as well, your horse will pay around $6.60 to place... but say a longshot comes in 1st or 2nd awith yours, say he has 300 to place, your horse's place price would be closer to $10
