    Synthetic Racetracks. Killing Racing.
The jocks dont get sloppy tracks at the synthetics. This has to be a big disadvantage when the big races come up with "sloppy" conditions. California is all synthetic.

I threw every synthetic riding jock out of the derby.

I also threw out all the west coast horses. Still could not nail the tri.

I imagine they are very close to the same rate of fatalities, not worth the expense and the headaches they give handicappers by any means.

The worst thing that has happen to handicappers imho. Bob Baffert said it best. Dirt tracks separate horses, synthetic tracks bring them together. D.W. Lukas also made the solid statement "Synthetic tracks is the best cure for the problem gambler. You can"t figure it out". Keeneland was an easy meet at one time to make money. Not so any more. And California? Their losing horseplayers on a monthly basis to other forms of wagering and they are not being replaced. And to the mix the increasing of the takeout and horse racing has lost its appeal as a gaming choice.

Here are some facts on this.

                  1. California is the best on synthetics. Reason why. The horses all run on synthetics, very few shippers. It is somewhat handicapable. This is the best us horse players will get for synthetics.

Now for the Keenland meet. Too many dirt shippers and other synthetic runners from other synthetic tracks. It is impossible to handicap. I think I wagered a handfull of times. Arlington is now destroyed with this synthetic shit. I just wagered my last bet at that place. It is impossible. Without our money in the sport, it will die.

Tracks that are impossible. Keenland, Arlington, Turfway. There is never a sloppy track.

I used to love Turway when the track froze. I loved Keenland with the shippers and the high purses. Arlington was always good. Now they will never see one dime from my pocket. Synthetics are crap.

Horse Racing Gamblers are a dying breed... There's not much value with mid week cards. Who wants to cash a $2 exacta that pays a whooping $5.60

If I only have to play $2 in the first place - I'll take that ROI

I treat it as turf. The deep closer seems to do better for me on synthetic. Gomez and Beajarano will sit dead last until there's 2 furlongs left.

Synthetics in California tend to favor closers and that makes races more interesting. What i saw a Keeneland was that closers had a real tough time over the poly. Arlington is one of my favorite tracks to bet cause it is pretty consistent.
