Its early.... anyone have a Derby Horse?
I have a guy that seems to always cash on the derby..... His horses this year is Ice Box and Conveyance ... anyone have any thoughts on that. I am a huge Derby guy who never cashes b/c I play about 15 tri boxes to try to bank..... There seems to always be 1 horse I never imagine that comes in the money...

With the huge field and no clear cut favorite yet, I am playing jockies at this point...

Borel, Albarado, Desormeaux, Leparoux, Velazquez (even though he hasnt won)

    Thoughts? Insight?

    Thx.....

The race will be won by a longshot again this year. Todd Pletcher will get his first Derby win with Mission Impazible and he will go off at 25-1 or better. You can bet the house on it.

I understand that most of you are putting names of horses, is there any reason why? There isn't a Big Brown in the field... again no clear cut favorite IMO I would like to hear why people like horses.....

That is why until I can make a better decision I am playing jockies more than anything... there are a few of them IMO that can ride a 20-1 to victory b/c of experience of the track....

It all depend on if Lookin at Lucky breaks good.If he does and gets a good stalking trip its game over.He has had terrible trips in 3 of his last 4 races so thats a lot of ifs.So if lookin at lucky fails to break well and gets caught behind in the 1st turn its anybodies race, especially the closers.Won't surprise me if a horse thats 15 - 20 lengths back at the midway pole surges for the win in the last couple furlongs.Everyone and their mother seems to like Awesome Act and I do a little also but I will be on a couple longshots also with the most money on Stately Victor. He is a closer and is bred well. His father, Ghostzapper was a champion at that 1 1/4 mile races.Post 6 is a comfortable spot also.

Stately Victor $10 W/P/S is my longshot play for ya

                                Good Luck whatever you do

I hate when people throw out a statistic without the corresponding out of how many. I think this makes 40 fillies now in the kentucky derby and 3 winners. The quick math there tells me winning percentage of fillies is higher than colts. Stop believing the stats you here on TV. It was like that gelding stat they always threw at you before funny cide won. Without the percentages, the stats mean nothing. Kinda like only two horses have ever won from post 20. Of course they fail to tell you not that many derbies have had 20 horses at post.

Lookin at lucky is the best horse in the race but that def doesn't mean he will win. The derby is all about what kind of trip you get and one bump can ruin your chances.

One of my favorite horses is Awesome act, if you watch his last race the jockey tugged on him all the way around the track and when he asked for him to run he was already dead. I just heard the horse is very stubborn like his dad awesome again and doesn't like when you tell him what to do. I think they should let him relax and run a little bit and i believe he will still have some left for the end kick.

Another horse that has a great chance is Noble's promise. In three G1's in a row he came 1,3,2 and he could have won them all. In the BC Juv he made his move two early and got caught by lookin at lucky. Then in the next race he moved a little to late but was making up ground on looking at lucky. There really isn't that much of a class difference between Nobles promise and lucky and you will get way better odds on noble promise. Not to mention Noble promise has the best wet breading in the race i think hes the best bet in the race.

Im not sure what im betting yet but im confident 1 of these 3 horses will win the race. For horses that can get up for second and third i got Ice box, Line of david, statley victor, paddy oprado, devil may care, super saver

I dont know what to do with Sidney's Candy, he's never been on the dirt and hes a front runner if he cant get up close to the front i dont know how he will react. Hes the wild card here

I just really think the 1 and the 20 being the 2 favoirtes won't make it in the top 3. I do not like either position, and it would take so many things to go right in a 20 horse field for them to be there down the stretch.

Hi, you can shoot me down in flames later - but I study the Dosage Index (DI) for the Kentucky Derby.

In 2005, I cashed in on Giacomo each-way & last year Mine That Bird each-way with the DI - cashed in on a good shot.

I do believe that a wet track brings upsets in Yankee Racing & big priced winners as the majority of US racing is on dry dirt - so there's not a lot of wet form to give a good sample on some tracks & race conditions.

So, after burning the midnight oil and thinking that 20 horses around a wet track - some horses not handling the conditions and blocking some favoured horses runs - these are my 3 each way shots against the field with the qualification of best Dosage Index horses & on a wet track - The Kentucky Derby 136 will be a chaos race.

This is not the order of finish - just 3 each way shots against the field

                                            1. Jackson Bend ML 15/1
                                            2. Mission Impazible ML 20/1
                                            3. Homeboykris ML 50/1

You can all give me a right kicking at 11.30pm EST tonight - but if 1 hits the frame - it's all green baby - all green !
