I wish I could say something bad here. Getting 4 pounds from the fav. Hopefully he’s not too short. Take Lava Man’s best this year and Surf Cat is 4-6 lengths faster than that. Unless this horse really bounces he’s the most likely winner. Headley/Bruce 24%. No best winner today for Sunday football so I’ll take Surf Cat. Now what will finish second.

    2 2 Lava Man Nakatani C S O'Neill Doug 123 L 4-5 (0-1)

Last 2 on poly and not the same horse as last year. Should finish second but I’ll look for better odds.

    3 3 Out of Control (BRZ) Baze M C Frankel Robert 123 L 6-1 (2-3)

Nice consistent turf horse but carrying the 123. Takes a few lengths away. Baze/Frankel 17%.

    4 4 Zann Gryder A T Machowsky Michael 119 L 15-1 (3-4)

Nice closer carrying the 119 could get up for 2nd. Lightly raced so a jump forward could happen. 24% Clip.

    5 5 Get Funky Valdivia J Jr Sadler John W 119 L 10-1 (2-3)

This could be a sleeper. 119 3rd fastest going in but a long layoff. Last race 90+ days trainer 15%. Unlikely a winner so ITM at same spec 43%. Will use underneath.

    6 6 Courtnall Flores D R Dollase Craig 119 L 15-1 (4-5)

A Little more heavier raced and carrying 123. Same type of speed as Zann.

This is the second time Lava Man did NOT show for me - never bet on him again - he gives up in the end...

Greg's Gold with a miserable trip under Espinzoa in the sprint race. Horse was tons the best and finished second.

Lava Man looks finished. If he throws in another clunker, they should retire him despite him being a gelding. Send him off with Funny Cide and they can enjoy retirement.
