The Package & Mon Mome

Some of these horses are carrying 160+lbs (put into perspective - Zenyatta was racing with 123lbs on board today)

Gotta love the National

I'm always amazed by how many riderless horses continue to jump the fences.

Here you go - the best race in the world - forget the Breeders Cup, The Kentucky Derby - The Grand National is THE race.

When I lived in USA, ABC used to show the race on a week's delay on their World Wide of Sports program.

In the past 10 years - 6 horses have died out of around 400 starters.

The course has been modified a great deal over the years- it is now much less of a death trap as it used to be .. I seem to see more breakdowns on US tracks over the flat than I do on the UK courses over the jumps.
