Keep in mind that in order to win the whole Fortune 6 jackpot, you need to be the only winner. That's why there keeps being a huge carryover even though 6 out of 6 get hit every day.

So be careful with this - it's not an ordinary Pick-6.

I suppose the best strategy would be to wait until there's a card with a couple really inscrutable races and pound it then. If it's going to be chalky or even if just 1 or 2 favorites win, chances are there will be more than one winner, so probably best to sit those cards out.

This is an interesting bet - the carryover might hit $500k given how often the favorites come in at Beulah.

Go to their website for the details, but here are the basic rules:

Beulah Park's Fortune 6 is a 25-cent wager for a Pick 6 that will pay out on one unique 25-cent ticket. A consolation will be paid on tickets where multiple players have the highest winning combinations.
    Fortune 6 Basics
    • The Fortune 6 is a Pick 6 quarter bet to pick the winners of six consecutive races.
    • The winner claims the entire pool with One Unique 25-cent Winning Ticket of winners in all six races.
    • There will be a 60% carryover combined with wagers on the next card with no unique winners.
    • On days there are multiple Fortune 6 winners, 40% of the pool is shared equally among those who have selected the highest number of winning horses.
    • Players receive a refund for horses on the ticket that are late scratches.

...So it also behooves you NOT to post your ticket anywhere until AFTER the first Fortune 6 race has gone off.

Tough bet to be the only winner. Must have several every day.

No, the 40% is paid out from the daily pool. The average pick-6 pool at Beulah is about $35k, just looking at the past couple days. Take 40% of that and distribute that among all winners. The rest goes toward the carryover. If you see what it paid recently, it was $300, $400, etc. I think it was $2k a couple times last week.

So it's still not bad, but I still don't think it's worth throwing any big money at this thing until you believe there are a couple races in the sequence where you can knock everyone else out.
