journalism is obvious but here's the one I'm interested in at a price

    #4 heart of honor (12-1)

never run worst than 2nd in 6 starts including 2 wins ..all the 2nds were by <2 lengths

like that after the nose loss in the UAE derby they decided to skip the ky derby so comes in off a nice 6 week rest .. that could be important shipping from Dubai

he's run the preakness distance in his last 2 starts and faced full fields in all of his starts ..jock who rode him in his last two 2 starts is aboard again

he's an off the pace runner in a race with a lot of speed

obviously coming from dubai whether he can handle this level of competition is in question but I like the other positives he brings to this ..might be a straight exacta with journalism on top ..will decide later in the week

When I was a kid, the Preakness was a big deal, nowadays, it gets treated more like another Grade 1 stakes race rather than what it really is, a Triple Crown Race.

          That's my take anyway.

probably some ,if not most,of it is because in the 70's coming back in 2 weeks was much less of a big deal .. here ,as you know, the derby winner decided to pass and that kind of says it all about how outdated the current spacing is ..really need to update it as str and I discussed not too long ago ..it would certainly make the preakness a lot more attractive to horse's coming out of the derby

                  #9 moon cache (20-1)

think this is a crazy ml and a lot of it has to do with local connections..could see her on the lead by herself or stalking a reasonable pace .. certainly a nice claim for $40k three starts back str

Agree, this girl will be included on my ticket. 20-1 would be a gift IMO.

glad you agree pigpen..instead of playing the BES/PREAK double ..I would parlay moon cache onto a journalism/heart of honor exacta .. guessing that would pay high $20's for $2 so my guess on the $2 parlay would be a $350/400 return

a strategy to consider vs the double with whoever you like in the preakness
