    kentucky derby future pool 6 pick (7/17 - 7/19)
    #17 shared sense (67-1 sunday @ 9:23am)

i think this is a ridiculous overlay on this horse.. some things

his figures in fast track races have improved every start-
distance progression (except mile to mile once) every start..

ran a derby quality figure winning indiana derby last out gaining 2 lengths last eighth..
    - few points shy of the best but they are low-mid single digits odds..

3 runs at churchill downs.. all solid 2nds
classic pedigree..by derby and travers winning sire out of preakness and travers winning dam sire..

brad cox, geroux solid home base connections

I liked his Indiana Derby. It looked like he was going to get headed and he pricked up his ears and took off again. 67-1 is a good price IMO.

excellent detail and good to know

I think a big part of that price is because that race is considered 2nd rate but I think that's minimized this year with the circumstances.. also indiana is a much better track in general than it was 10 years ago.. definitely moved up half a notch imo

I have had some interest in King Guillermo. Looking back at his Arky Derby he ran a legit race. I like the 28-1 currently but where has he been? He is based @ Gulfstream if I am not mistaken. Is he scheduled to run soon? Loved his TB Derby. Low profile connections may be worth a flyer at this price also.

Going to take a look at both prices later this afternoon.

actually preakness, travers.. that's even better (take travers @ 1 1/4 miles anytime over freak distance belmont any day).. we're talking bernardini

just a mention on the oaks future wager (closes at 6:00)

#8 gamine currently 9-5..won the acorn by 18 lengths with figures that are as good as the boys.. cost $1.8M but her pedigree is pure sprint and of course the oaks is a furlong shorter than the derby.. realize she's one of the two along with charlatan who were taken down as winners with the baffert medication suspension.. if gamine is OK and runs in the oaks think she'll be around 3-5.. her class and ability will make up for her distance limited pedigree

Swiss Skydiver may have a say in the outcome of the Oaks IMO.

Shared Sense closed at 42-1 and King G at 25-1. I did not pull the trigger. I looked at 5 dimes and could not find Shared Sense but King G is at 20-1 at 5d.
