Kona's Tip for lay off types
With so many lay off types starting back up one tip that has worked for me I think i got from the great late Bobby Frankel is that its much easier to bring a horse back and ready at a distance of ground rather than a sprint. So when you see that 90 day layoff horse coming back at a mile plus dont be afraid to include and opposite the sprinters to toss.

I never distinguished between them but guess he's saying more can go wrong bringing them up to the race in a sprint vs the preparation you give a route horse.. was discussing this with str not to long ago (without regards to distance) and he said has more to do with the horse than the trainer.. some need a race and others fit enough right off the bench

Another tip that has done me well is 2 year old's always prefer the first time starter VS others that have 2+ starts at same level

plus one last one angle I use....bet against front runners when leaving from 1 turn chute. Example is Mile at Churchill or Belmont 1 1/16th

Okay, hang on, I've wanted to ask this question, about the rail.(a little off topic)
I see it at Gulfstream Park a lot,
Do You consider when the rail starts? When the rail starts with heavy favorites?
This bit of information comes up from time to time, and I've wondered, how can I use this information?
            Your thoughts?
