Commentator announces that all Pick X bets that include the 4, including a big jackpot Pick 7, will automatically be replaced with the favorite at post time.
The odds barely moved for the 10 minutes leading up to the race that I was watching. As soon as the 4 got scratched, the 3 went to 3-1, and the 7 dropped to 2-1. Wouldn't you know it, the 3 horse wins, but the 7 horse was automatically put into any Pick X tickets that had the 4.
I thought this was very interesting. From my perspective, they essentially made the 7 an artificial favorite just to make sure that all these Pick 7 tickets with the 4 weren't kept alive by the 3.
