Will he win again?
Will he wait for the Breeders Cup only now?
What is wrong with him?

Arrogate remains the best horse in the world, imo. He doesn't like the Del Mar surface, which is deep and tiring according to many trainers there. Str has given insight into the surface in his Q&A thread.
It's not impossible that he had two bad days in a row. That would be my guess, but the BC will tell. At least he will have some value now.
I was a little surprised that Smith didn't try harder to get him in the lead going into the first turn. The rail bias has been quite obvious, and I remember him taking over on Game On Dude (another Baffert horse, raced by Chantal Sutherland until then), and he started on the outside and cut straight across the field, aggressively, because the horse was one-dimensional. I don't understand why he wouldn't do that with Arrogate as well. Get him out to the front, stay at the rail, give him a nice breather, and have plenty left for the stretch.
Del Mar is hush hush about the surface, but I doubt that silence will last when the BC comes along and the horses shipped in from the East aren't going anywhere.

same as last year from here.. win bc classic, pegasus wc and retire after winning in dubai..the 400k less for coming in 2nd last out is the equivalent of me buying a nice pair of slacks for the connections..if successful or even very good efforts he'll be a 100-150k stallion right out of the gate
