Joey, what's your fair price for AP?

I like your picks, thinking about boxing those 4. The 7 horse (good post position) has won a stakes race and looks to be close in class to Danzig Moon. Surprised Mr Z is running after the way he ran (or didn't) in the Derby.

i think AP will go off about 3-5 but im hoping the 6 or 7 gets in the super with either dortmund or firing line to get a better value on the super

If a tri goes 1-2-8 what is your projected payout? 2-1-8?

Just wondering. Also, what do you hope to get from the super? No Dortmund? He'll be top 3 again, question is where.

There won't be any value in a trifecta with the big 3, only in a super. There it gets tricky. The most likely to come in are the 4 or 7, You'd have to do straight supers, don't want to waste your money on a box that doesn't pan out: changed my mind on doing a box. A .10 or .20 won't pay you much either. It's really hard to put a horse in 4th that's going up so much in class, tossing Tale of Verve and Bodhisativa. I was tossing Mr Z as well until I looked again at the sheets. He doesn't seem to run unless he feels like it. He came in 3rd in the Arkansas Derby and 3rd by a neck behind Dortmund and Firing Line in another Grade 1 race, though just at a 1 1/16. Possible underneath? I'm going to alternate between him, 4, and 7. Lukas actually went so far as to buy this horse, so he could run him. Maybe he's just going senile, but he has had a few decent races.

Rather, Lucas facilitated a sale to another owner in order to race Mr Z in the Preakness, still pretty extreme

Early odds are 3/5 AP, 5-2 Firing Line, and 8-1 Dortmund

It looks like my avatar is opening up for a big value play. I love him at 8, that's a killer price given his ability and size.

I think I will do a trifecta box now. Everyone has been betting the other 2.
