    Light The Lamp: 10.28
A win yesterday? That must mean a loss today. 4-2 overall for Light The Lamp. WTF?

    Flyers/Thrashers OVER 5.5 (-135 Bookmaker)
You've got two teams in the bottom third of PK units in the league and that should bode well for some scoring tonight. Philly has given up at least one PP goal in 7 of 8 games and multiple PP goals in 3 of their last 5. The Thrashers are just as giving with a PP goal given up in 7 of 8. Both PP units are clicking a little bit more here lately, so perhaps they can take advantage of the man advantage. The Flyers have definitely found their scoring touch here in their last 4 games with 19 goals. Still, they're leaking 17 over that same time. Atlanta has given up five in each of their last two and yielded 4 goals in 2 of their 3 home games this season. The Thrashers offense has been OK with at least 2 goals scored in 7 of 8 this year. Marty Biron has a GAA over 3 against ATL while Kari Lehtonen also has a GAA over 3 against PHI. Biron's last start, a 3-2 win over NJ was the first of his 6 starts that failed to produce at least 7 goals. Let's get back to leaking in them goals bro! Let's THRASH this total and go over!

    Predators/Capitals OVER 5.5 (-110 Bookmaker)
I tried to talk myself out of this, saying Ovechkin's absence makes a difference. It does, but he's not a goalie. The Preds have been rotating the turnstyle in fine fasion, allowing their opponents entrance into their goal this season. Over their last 5, the Preds are giving up on average 4+ goals per game (23 total). The PK unit has improved greatly since giving up 4 PP goals to STL in their opener, but they still manage to yield 1 PP goal for every 5-6 chances given. Good thing for Nashville is their offense is trying to keep up and they are scoring well. The Preds are 5th in the early going with a 3.5 goal average per contest. They haven't scored less than 3 since their opener. Do the math, 3 goals scored + 4 or more given = $$$ in your account on the over. The Caps meanwhile exploded for 5 goals against the leaky Stars defense in their last game, but managed to give up 6. The offensive outburst should bode well as they return home after the rough road trip where they only scored 8 goals in 3 games. At home, they're averaging 4 per game in 3 tries. Their PK unit has also given up one PP goal in 6 of 8 games. Ovechkin will be missed for his intangibles, but he only had two goals this year - both coming in the same game. Don't be chkin shit without Ovechkin. Light the Lamp, OVER style!
