NHL BEST BETS - Wed 1/10/2008
I will do a daily recap of each days action. 10 units is the max/game.

Sorry but i will not count parlays, only straight up selections.

unit size will be your win amount

to win 2u on +150; gain 2u if win, down 1.33u if loose.
to win 2u on -130; gain 2u if win, down 2.6u if loose.

    good luck!

please let me know for any corrections and give me a line for the game it will make calculations easier for me

i will start scoring plays on sat oct 4.
    --------------------------------------------------------

A little change on how i will be scoring from last year. Hope this scoring system is alright for the majority. If you guys have other ideas on how to score, let me know in this thread. Usually, when i bet on games i bet according to how much i want to win on a game, thus the scoring system above.

This is just for fun. I hope i can make it through the year again scoring nhl best bets plays.

You are a good man taking on this again! I personally think for your own sanity and easier scoring you should use the following:

If you are betting a favorite you are betting to WIN that amount i.e to win 2 units on a -140 favorite you are putting up 2.8 to win 2.

If you are betting a dog at +140 than you are BETTING 2 units to win 2.8.

I think it's easier to calculate this way for you, especially after a night which involves a few beers and it's how most people end up betting anyway.

But seriously, however you want to do it should be the way to go. You are the guy putting in all the extra effort. I just think rather than pulling out a calculator all the time for guys who are betting underdogs to find out what they put up when they lose, you can do all the math pretty much in your head by using the base amount as described above.

I would be fine no matter what format you use. Cobra's format is much easier for you, so go for it if you want.
