Mark Messier from Edmonton, Alberta and former Oilers, Rangers and Canucks left wing/centre is 51 today..Moose was a 6X Stanley Cup Champ(Oilers in 84,85,87,88 and 90 and Rangers in 94), a 15X All-Star and had 694 goals with 1,193 assists..Messier ran the NYC Marathon on 11/6/11 and finished in 4:14.21.

that's correct...he had skates on too.

Messier was one tough cat. I remember when he guaranteed a game 6 win over the Devils when the Rangers were down 3-2 in the conference finals. N.Y. won that game and went on to beat Vancouver in the finals. One of the best ever.

Doesnt hurt that he was in an ensemble cast of some of the greatest hockey players ever, either
