    NHL putting ads on jerseys.
NHL putting advertising on their jerseys:

NHL jersey ads have been approved by the league's board of governors. Teams will be allowed to sell 3-by-3.5-inch space starting in 2022-23.

NHL keeps finding ways to sell out...I'm disgusted by this, the helmet ads were bad enough.

I understand the need for money, but still...

The ads showing from under the ice are horrible.. Now on the uniforms..

Probably won’t be long till they start showing political advertisements also. Money talks..

"Honey, I just saw a Ford sticker on a hockey uniform. Let's go buy a Ford. Right now!"

Is that how they think it works? Or is it all psychological and the more times I see "Ford", the more I'll want one when it comes time to get a new car?

Gotta be psychological advertisers betting on...like that bet99 that everywhere, nobody knows them but they hoping people just try then the note they see them.

Other sports uniforms it wouldn't be as bad as hockey, because hockey uniforms have big logo on front and on shoulders and captain and assistant captain letters - now they gotta fit in advertising too

Actually these ads not too bad when they're this small and match colours, but still rather not have them there:

The Washington Capitals will be the first NHL club to feature advertisements on their uniforms after agreeing to a multi-year deal with Caesars Sportsbook.Beginning in 2022-23, the Capitals' home and third jerseys for games played at Capital One Arena in Washington will include the Caesars logo. The team teased the new look Friday morning. Our fans are loyal and loyalty is LOUD!So let’s raise a goblet to the future and welcome @CaesarsSports to the #ALLCAPS Family!https://t.co/tVaKFS2smg pic.twitter.com/vBHKbcFriY— Washington Capitals (@Capitals) September 24, 2021 The jersey patch is 3-by-3 1/2-inches in size, according to The Athletic's Sean Shapiro, who adds that Washington's road sweaters will include an ad from a different sponsor, which the club is finalizing. In August, it was reported NHL teams would begin placing ads on jerseys starting in the 2022-23 campaign. The league allowed helmet ads in 2021 as a way for clubs to recoup money lost due to the COVID-19 pandemic.NBA teams have sold ad space on their jerseys since 2017-18. The MLS started doing so in 2007.
