    First coaching casualty
    Bob Hartley fired in Atlanta.

Atlanta should now hire Pat Quinn or Pat Burns.

They definitely were off to a rough start this year and something needed to change, however I think the Thrashers overreacted.

On a side note... Doesn't Pat Burns have cancer?

Apparently he is doing much better and would like to get back in the game. I don't have a link, but I saw him in an interview on TV before the start of the season.

It's much easier to fire one person than the whole team. If the team plays good now they will say that the move worked. If they still lose they will say that the new coach needs time to adjust. Most of the firings of coaches have nothing to do with performance. Whatever keeps the fans happy so that the money keeps coming in to play the players and GM salaries.
