A beginner question .. Sorry and Ty for any Info
I apologize for this 'newb' question .. tonight is the 3rd bet i have ever made and i had a question about the canada's game

I use proline (like at the store)

on their website, in the FAQ section .. this is what it says a Tie is

regular hockey season - tie rule = extra innings + shootout
regular hockey season scoring - tie rule = extra innings + shootout

Playoff Hockey = No tie option
Playoff Hockey Scoring = extra play

My question is ... does anyone know if the Olympics would be considered regular/playoff hockey? or if its just considered a tie anyway (tonight's canada's game)

My bet was +5.5 on a spread for Switzerland

Again, sorry for the possibly very simple question .. I am new

Thanks for your information .. much appreciated

    Ty

If your playing the spread it doesn't matter if the game went to extra time or not. As for your other question, for the side options was there an option for a tie? If there was it would be considered regular season or playoff hockey if there was no option for a tie. Extra time only applies if you played an actual side or tie option, you would would have won with the +5.5 on switzerland.

on the sheet i got from the store with the games, the only option i had was to pick Only the Spread .. I could not choose a win/lose or a Over or under (those were marked with a N/A)

so i marked my picks with the spread (home/visitor) and thats it, waited to see what happened

So would this Canada game be considered a "playoff" game and i did win with a Spread +5.5 on Switzerland?

I very much appreciate the help

      Thank you in advance

I don't think it would be considered playoff hockey. I am trying to remember my proline days.. I think a tie would consist of both teams getting points (i.e. in OT or a shootout win). In the playoffs, it's pointless to have points.

For the olympics (right now at least), they have shootouts and both teams get points if they go into over time. Im pretty sure the round robin is considered "regular season play".

          If you are talking proline.

          W - reg/ot win
          L - Reg/ot loss
          shootout = tie

The regular season tie only applies if you took the tie option and the game goes to a shoot out. And there is no hockey tie in playoff hockey, you can only choose one of the sides. It would be considered neither a regular season tie or playoff.

Since you were playing the point spread it doesn't matter if the game went to extra time or not. You had +5.5 goals to work with on the swiss side and a team can only score one goal in extra time.

Results can also be found on the proline website. The tie rules don't apply to the pointspread. On the site you can read up on pointspread rules, these rules would apply to your wager and not the proline rules since you were playing the pointspread for this game.

just a question to people who have played with Proline before ... out of curiosity i was wondering

when you bring your ticket to the store the next day to get checked .. has anyone experienced a time when the machine says the games you bet on yesterday/night are still going on.. or being processed ... or something of this nature?

(Russian game started 1:00am where i live, would games happening on the same day as the day you where checking your ticket create some sort of error?)

was just wondering if this kind of thing happens often

Thank you in advance .. again very much appreciated and i apologize for my simple questions
