Hurricanes vs Capitals Game 1 player prop picks from SBR's Gary Pearson:

Seth Jarvis anytime goal (+195 DraftKings)

"Jarvis scored two goals in five games against the Devils. It's a goal haul that might have you wondering why I'm selecting him to light the lamp in Washington. Jarvis becomes the elite goal-scorer he always wished he could be when facing the Caps, scoring three goals in the last three meetings. He's scored five in the previous seven, doing his best Great 8 impression against Alex Ovechkin's team."

Dylan Strome Over 0.5 assists (-110 BetMGM)

"Strome is always in the zone and prone to shouldering the assists load on his own. His assists prop represents my most profitable of the season stretch run and the postseason.

The assist maestro set up Ovechkin on all four of his first-round goals, which I put money down on. While that's as impressive as riding a unicycle, Strome isn't exclusively Ovi's setup man.

He has seven helpers in five games, posting an assist in all but one. That's as impressive as riding a unicycle while juggling. At some point, he'll hit a cooling period, but I'll ride this unicycle until the wheel falls off."

    Anthony Beauvillier Over 1.5 shots (-120 bet365)

"Beauvillier rose to the occasion in the first round, bagging five points in as many games. He's benefitting from playing beside Ovi and Strome, with his ice time increasing by more than 1:30 per game in the playoffs. Beauvillier's also getting his fair share of shooting opportunities. Better yet, he's pulling the trigger.

The 27-year-old hit the Over in four of five games in the first round and all three at Capital One Arena, averaging 3.7 shots in front of the Caps-mad crowd."

Hurricanes vs Capitals Game 2 player prop picks from SBR's Gary Pearson:

Dylan Strome Over 0.5 assists (-105 via BetMGM)

"Strome failed to notch an assist in Game 1 for just the second time in six games. With the Hurricanes dominating every facet, Strome struggled to get any good looks or set up in the offensive zone. The Capitals will enter with elevated desperation and much more impetus than in the opener.

While the Hurricanes are an exquisite defensive team, I can't see them keeping the Caps' difference-making duo silent for a second straight game."

Andrei Svechnikov Over 2.5 shots (-115 via bet365)

"Svechnikov hit the Over for the third straight game in the opener, firing three shots on Logan Thompson. While that's all the 25-year-old required to eclipse the 2.5-shot threshold, he amassed an astonishing 12-shot attempts. That quantity-over-quality strategy is a Hurricanes hallmark.

Svechnikov averaged six shots per game in the last three games and hit the Over in four of six contests overall. While the Capitals will be better in Game 2, that won't stop Carolina from firing liberally as soon as it sets up in the offensive zone. As he has been since the start of the playoffs, Svechnikov will be at the heart of that game plan."

Aliaksei Protas Over 0.5 points (+140 via bet365)

"Protas played his second game of the playoffs against the Canes in the opener, and he notched a point and was one of the best Capitals. He said he's playing at about 90% of his capacity, and I expect him to improve as he gets his game legs back. This pick is slightly ambitious given he's just returned from a lengthy injury hiatus.

However, Thursday's contest will mark his third game back. And based on how he played in Game 1, I'm confident he can make a tangible difference. Despite missing the last eight games, Protas tied for the third-most points in the regular season with Pierre-Luc Dubois. He scored at a 0.87 points-per-game clip before suffering his late-season injury."
