Stars-Canucks Game 7

I am a firm believer that you can never play a +1.5 number at huge juice in hockey...... simply because of the empty net goal at the end of the game. If you are going to play a team at 1.5 you might as well play them straight up, avoid the huge juice (which is a no no in hockey anyway) and take your shot that way. Of course you will lose a few games that you would have won, but your loses when your team loses by 2 or more goals are too great to overcome at such huge vig. And if your team wins outright, which is what your desired result is anyway, you get a take back on the odds.

I would have to be concerned if I were bet on the Canucks in this game. Mainly because of there recent history in regards to closing out a series. If memory serves me correctly they haven't been able to do that since like 2003.

A good point. I have taken +1.5 before, but have used it in parlays only. Won with Dallas a few games ago with that included in a ML parlay with NJ and Anaheim I think. Straight up though I would agree with you, laying that much is not a great idea.

Six straight periods with no goals, which Vancouver has now done almost twice in this series. They went scoreless in Game 2 and first 2 periods of Game 3. With that type of play, they are lucky to be in a Game 7. Dallas not much better. How was the first game 4-4 with these teams before OT?

Still tough to win 3 straight, so I'd side with Vancouver.

This is definitely a tough one. I like Dallas tonight as I feel they have paid their dues in the playoffs. Turco looks like hes on a mission. Furthermore i think having this game in Vancouver actually favours Dallas as the pressure is off them. Combined with Vancouvers inexperience due to the mounting pressure, and history shows Game 7's don't favour the home team.
Right now im just watching the price for Dallas and wait till it peaks before I lay (currently +112).

This score is higher than I thought it would be after 1 period of play. Were tied at 1-1 guys.

Tough beat for Dallas, but they just played shorthanded too long in this one.

Didn't realize Vancouver had blown 3-1 leads 4 times in their history. That has to be a pro sports record.

I noticed 3 third period penalties that either real tickey tacky and phantom called on Dallas. The refs never call those types of things at all in the playoff, and they happen to call them tonight.

I really feel sorry for all the under backers tonight, because they really got screwed over with the two empty neters at the end of the game.

Yeah the refs were really horrible from the middle of the 2nd period on. Took my lumps taking the Stars at +115. Glad I wound up passing on the under! Better luck next round to us all.

I needed this, had the Canucks to win the series, and I've had experience losing a lead like that before.

Heh funny whenever I need an empty netter to get the over it never happens (Sharks vs. predator 2 days ago pulled with over 2 mins. left for example) but with barely over 1 minute 2 happen

Glad to see you didn't go with the +1.5 and big juice on the Stars. As i said previously those empty netters are enough to pull your hair out. I especially sympathize with the under bettors last nite....that's a tough tough beat.
