Sure can remember as a kid growing up in Beantown, hoping the Pats could just win a game in the dump of the league at the time known as Sullivan Stadium. Sox hadn't won it in like a hundred years, Parrish-Bird-McHale were no longer coming thru that door [Pitino line], and since Orr of '72 B's were sub-par for many years. Sure have come a long way since those days. More like galaxies and light years away.
Even if nothing else good happened in Boston sports, the down 3-0 comeback in my lifetime to beat the Yanks & go on to sweep the World Series for 1st one in like a century, would've made me content for life as a Bostonian. Winning many more, and the old Canadians coach leading the B's to one, and Rondo over the Fakers in '08, and Brady/Beli speak for themselves ... what can we dream of next?
So am thinking, Pats and Sox just did it, C's just swept 1st round (and I'd honestly say have a half-way decent chance to do it), and we're at B'd game 7 tonight. If B's win, not half-way decent, they have a decent chance to do it. So, the dream is the 4 big Boston teams, all win Championships in the same year long window. Can they do it? Has it ever been done before? My only guess is maybe 3 of 4 at best, with like a Dodger/Raider/Laker year that won them all maybe? Maybe not.
Yea so, guess what, got NHL Boston ML tonight. Mostly just a home boy play, as am not under any illusion that TO can't easily win this. However, home ice real huge for a game 7, Cherry said last game B's had the jump which I hope carries to this one, and umm let's say goodbye to the Canads who only got To left. Am guessing 1-1 after 1, still 1-1 after 2, 2-2 after 3, and B's 3-2 in OT. Thus,
1st P Over 1.5 @ -105 [am not afraid of a slow start; expect 2 goals in the last 10 min of the P]
Draw @ +310 [game 7 (if not all games), always has the potential of OT]
Boston ML @ -140
