Man, I went with the Under 5.5 in the Phoenix game. It's already 1-0 in the first minute of play! Last time I seen this Danny Taylor he was lit up in a relief appearance for the Los Angeles Kings. Wasn't that the year the Kings were rolling with a Japanese goalie too? Calgary needs to tighten things up if they want to win some games. Wonder if Phoenix will shut it down and just defend the lead. My only chance it may seem.Comment -

Betting the card, why? Currently playing a new strategy this week - Volume. Drastically increasing the volume this week, it's something I've done in the past(if the bank roll allows it) with success, but nothing is a guarentee. Possible burial? always a possibility. Will it affect me? won't even flinch!
I still grade my picks, tonight I have two plays that fall into the 2 Star category - Chicago and Los Angeles, in a normal setting those games would be my only plays tonight. I'm also investing more into Totals. So tonight is the largest card I've played this season.

I like the price for Montreal, Rick Nash is apparently out for NYR, Carey Price could also return, but this is also the 3rd game in 4 nights for MTL. Lose tonight, win on Saturday?
Ottawa is well coached, players believe in themselves, believe in the system, they need all of it to soldier on(because of their injuries), at home against a hot/cold team in NYI. Their best chance now for the playoffs is to beat teams like the NYI, I'm looking for them to continue momentum after a big win against NJ.
-San Jose..I'm getting flashbacks of the LA@STL game last week. Speaking of the Kings, they're the sleeping giant of the NHL. Currently not playing up to standard but they're slowly getting there. After a tough loss to Chicago on Sunday, Edmonton and Calgary are perfect bounce back opponents for the Kings. I'd start a two game chase starting tonight.Comment -
I agree with you on the Sabres and Kings. Other than that my picks would be the opposite. I think NY will absolutely clobber MTL. MTL hasn't been able to score for shyte lately and they are playing against lundy tonight, on B2B games. I watched that whole OTT NJ game and that was really a lucky win from a complete NJ meltdown. So many missed chances by NJ where it was just pure luck that the puck didn't end up in the net. OTT game could go either way because NYI are amazingly unpredictable. I'm not taking anything away from your picks, just thought it was funny that my picks were almost completely opposite. Probably not a good sign for either of usComment -

Thanks, it was a good day. Last week was my first losing week(only lost a couple units), that was enough reason for me to eat an extra bowl of Wheaties and try get my monies back. I responded with a 10-2 day. The short season has been good so far, up 30u total.Comment -

I'm still looking hard at the Philly-Pittsburgh game. I'm going back and forth on the total. My immediate thought is to go OVER 5.5, it's getting me all nostalgic about the '12 Playoffs, those were some good times.
But consider this: the Flyers are without Jagr, Hartnell, JVR and Carle. That is a significant amount of offensive production from last season. They also have improved defensively and Bryzgalov is having a stronger year. The Flyers have been sub par on the road this season, and interestingly enough the Penguins have been vulnerable at home. Penguins are expected to start Tomas Vokoun. Game is on TV "Rivalry night" or something like that.Comment -

Bit of a rough day in NHL last night, final tally was 2-6 -4.3
Knew I should've stayed away from them juice. So what this means it cuts into Tuesdays winnings a bit, no biggie. Thank goodness for NBA live betting, the MIA-CHI game eventually finished at an staggering low of 153.
Still have 3 days to pad the record, so Ive been looking hard at all the weekend games already. As for tonight, another small card, but everyone knows about Chicago. Ride them till they lose?

As mentioned last month in this thread, my unit target is 3u a week. If you can achieve that throughout the duration of the year, you'll be looking at roughly 152 units on New Years Eve. Having 25+ in the NHL alone after just 4 weeks of action is already a big success. Hopefully we can maintain this pace. I realize in saying this could set off a massive jinx and will thus lose my entire BR in the coming weeks. Good luck to the forum!

Detroit Redwings - The Redwings are currently on a 5 game losing skid, they will be at home, looking to avenge an earlier loss to the Nashville Predators. The Preds will be on the 2nd game of a B2B. And how the F... did the Wings lose to CBJ last night?
Edmonton Oilers - It's mind boggling with all that offensive talent the Oilers are the worst NHL team at Even Strength. The last time they met (Jan.30 @ PHX) the Oilers won 2-1, but that was without Smith in net for the Coyotes. I'm looking for a decent effort from the Oil, closing out a homestand before going on the road. It's not that they're playing badly, they still trying to put it all together and learn how to win. The right medicine could come in the form of a Coyote, who are among the worst in 5 on 5 GA. Get a goal or two, convert on your special teams, and hold the lead!
Washington Capitals - anyone watch the Jersey game? The Caps outplayed the Devils and still came up short. And what was all them penalties? Refs gave it to the Devils in the 3rd, no question.
Dallas Stars - Dallas played Vancouver pretty hard, coming up short in a 4-3 loss. The Sharks are in tough if Dallas can continue the strong play. I'm curious to see the line for this game.Comment -

Another solid day, achieving twice my weekly unit target in a single day. A couple of regrets come to mind, I slept in and forgot the Washington game, in fact I thought it was an evening game. Another one was the Buffalo Sabres, I put blind faith into that one, upon closer look it was certainly a winnable game for the NY Islanders, I should've held off any action. Worst beat of the night was definitely the Over/Under 6 Tampa Bay @ Carolina, I had the Under, and it was 1-0 after the 2nd period. You know what happens? They combine for 6 goals in the 3rd.
Sunday Games
Over/Under lines are set at 5.5. I like unders personally, so I'll be spending the morning looking for opportunities there. Also, will parlay Chicago with either New Jersey or Anaheim. I'm also liking Carolina(@NYI) and Phoenix(@CGY).Comment -

Roll of the dice with the Panthers. Markstrom will be getting the start and I expect the Panthers to put in a strong effort. Could be a tight game, don't think the Panthers can hang with the Bruins offensively, but hey..they did destroy the Flyers and played Pittsburgh pretty tough. It's a matinee too, a factor that is worth mentioning as the Bruins have a tendency to sleep walk.

-Majority of games are set at 5. I could see a lot of Pushes, or the possibility of empty-net goals jeopardize any Under backers, so I'm not touching those games. Two games, TOR@PHI and EDM@CHI, are at 5.5. Really like the value of the OVER for the Chicago game, as I see it a 4-2 type of game. The lineup movement is crazy right now, I don't know what to think of it. Anyway, I will be making it an official play. As for the Toronto game, I think Philly wins, but they need to limit the opposition, too many times the Flyers have fallen behind early OR given up leads. Tonight, I'll take the gamble and will go with the Under. The 1st period will be key, if both teams keep it under 1.5 then there's a good shot it goes under(obviously). Last time they met was two week ago, the Leafs exploded in the 2nd period to take the game 5-2 @Toronto.

Monday is always a tough day for everyone. The Montreal game ended in a shootout, and my Under 5.5 in the Philly game was lost due to a empty net with just seconds remaining. Overall lost just one unit for the day, much ado bout nothing, just forge ahead and look towards the next day. For tomorrow's card, like last week, it's possible I may bet the card again.
