    NHL Sunday...
Edmonton had two days off to recover from two straight 5-4 losses on the road.

Second game in two nights in a traveling situation for the New Jersey Devils. Devils dropped a 3-1 game to Detroit last night.

Well, things are not going well for the New Jersey Devils right now. The NHL team is playing with too many AHL players and the list continues to grow. Indeed, the Devils recalled Jay Leach and Patrick Davis from Lowell today to fill in for Brian Gionta and Bryce Salvador. Gionta is out, Salvador may try to play tonight. He left last night after blocking a shot and did not return.

The Oilers are not one of the power of the NHL but they are healthy and have speed and energy. They take a crack at a banged up team tonight. Devils going with their third string goalie Scott Clemmenson tonight, Kevin Weekes (rest) gets the night off. New Jersey is also without top defenseman Paul Martin. Devils third and fourth line are currently below NHL average with a bunch of regulars out and the blue line is thin.

I like the Oilers chances, the team scored 13 goals in last 3 games and only suspect goaltending cost the team more wins. They will go with keeper Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers tonight, he won his only decision this year. I'm betting on matchups and energy here. The Oilers can't afford to dropped the opportunity to finish a wounded animal. They will have some chances to score, and it's not Brodeur in goal tonight to save the Devils.

    Edmonton (-105)
