Oh man, it's been a tough time for the LA Kings over the last 2weeks. Los Angeles lost 5 straight games including 4 straight on their home ice. However, to the Kings defense the strenght of the schedule played against them in that stretch. LA played very tough opposition (Detroit, Vancouver, Calgary and Anaheim) and lost 4 one goal game in last 5 games including 2 OT losses against arguably the NHL top 2 teams (Detroit and Anaheim).
The Kings schedule is getting better with mediocre opposition coming up (Florida and St-Louis). You can say Los Angeles is not a power in the NHL but they can beat those teams no doubt about and specially on their home ice. I would not be surprised to see the Kings win their next two games.
Florida is not rolling, they lost 4 straight including a 5-3 loss to one of the NHL worst team (Atlanta) in their last game. This team is going nowhere at the moment. GM Jacques Martin is giving ultimatum to some veterans. Panthers missing some bodies up front including top scoring forward Cory Stillman. Tomas Vokoun is 4-9 in his career against Los Angeles.
I like the Kings chances, team is hungry and on a verge of explosion. They should run into less effective defense tonight after playing powerful teams like Detroit and Anaheim recentely. Kings scorers will get their chances. Going for the home team.
Los Angeles (-135)
