SBR: rule change needed in Ladder challenge
The max bet in the challenge is +300

    Lets say you like a +301 or a +400, hell even a +500

You should be able to bet it at +300 in the challenge in my opinion...basically you are accepting worse odds to meet the demands of the contest

This way, it doesnt take away from the spirit of the competition (meaning you don't get to bet outrageous numbers hoping for a prayer, but you also get bet a team you think will win at worse value)

Thank you for listening to my TED talk, GOD BLESS

Sounds like a fair idea to me.

most sportsbooks dont do freeplays this way because i guess its harder to downgrade the play

since this is graded manually, it makes sense to just allow it...the player is getting worse value anyway

however, id rather bet ML +300 on a bet that went from +600 to +325 rather than a bet that went from +250 to +300

      just my thought on it

Unfortunately, I disagree as I’m in more in favor of lowering the max to +200, then allowing picks greater than +300, even if they would still be counted at +300. Looking for huge dogs at +300 plus just defeats the purpose of the challenge in winning “rung by rung” to get up that ladder and not leap up to the top with 4 leaps and 1 “easy” fav.

The current rule encourages more in picking “even” matchups and get participants to really work at it to get up that ladder.

ok fine, what if the max bet was +200, why shouldnt a guy wanting to bet a +250 game be allowed to accept +200 odds for this contest?

what if max bet was +150. why shouldnt someone wanting a +200 game post the game at +150?

i dont seen your point given my holistic approach to the situation

Because if limit was +200 and someone wants to bet +250, then someone is allowed to be anything over +200. There are sometimes trends that someone can find that’s outside then max limit which someone can run with it. With limits, it generally reduces trends as it harder finding trends in a smaller range.

For instance, this NFL season started with the first 7 weeks having underdogs at +6.5 plus outright winning. It wasn’t teams +4 to +6.5 winning but bigger underdogs. So that +9 team with that trend would look good. But you couldn’t bet them due to the limit.

And btw I don’t think you have much input when you’re not even participating in the contest.

Its not that easy to leap up with only +200 or +300 odds. You still have to hit winners and string together 3-4 of them. It takes less picks but is much more riskier IMO.
