    Sports and Math
there is so much misconceptions on how and what math is the proper application to use in sports betting such as how the Binomial distribution is used and how the Poisson distribution is used in sports betting and I am getting a little confused.

    1) what sports is the Binomial used in? and it's application team, players, total season wins,team/player props, etc

2)what sports is the Poisson best used in? and it's application team, players, total season wins, team/player props, etc

    Thanks for the help

binomials are used to predict sets of a fixed number, poisson is used to predict sets of a fixed time period.

e.g. for binomial: The Dodgers are xx% likely to win each of their 162 games. How many games do you expect them to win this season?

e.g. for poisson: last season Billy Cundiff kicked x fgs per game. How many field goals will he make in the AFC championship game?
