Trying to learn r... I need some help on getting started. Anyone know how to import a large dataset into r? I have .txt and .csv files that are about 22,000 kb with about 24,000 rows including headers and around 100 columns. Thanks!

#3use the read.table or read.csv commands r can handle that size no problem. you won't need to worry about using external package for files until you reach 1gb or larger.Comment -

#4i'd recommend just using r-commander. it's a gui. it sort of makes you feel like a pussy but it saves you a lot of time. a few of my professors, who I can confirm were proficient in command line and scripting, swore by itComment
