Most Important Stats When Capping Basketball Sides?
It's the only sport that I completely suck at. Can anybody offer me some quality handicapping advice?

Why is this the case in your opinion?

It makes the most sense from theoretical perspective, while a model that is based on this parameter alone provides the best correlation with historical results.

Yes, but where do you find PPP stats for NBA? It is easy to find Pomeroys for CBB, but I have not seen anything equal to that for the pros.

Play halftime bets. March Madness is good practice.

Look for two competitive teams with seriously tilted halftime percentages. Look at shooting percentage, free throws, rebounds, turnovers. As long as the team shooting 60% isn't getting easy layups, the team shooting 35% more often than not covers the 2H. Plus halftime lines are up only ten or fifteen minutes, so they're softer.

I find it in my own database. The advantage of this method is that I can apply any adjustemnts I want. Regardless, the stat is available at: http://www.knickerblogger.net/stats/2008/ there it is listed in points per 100 possessions.
