    Was wondering if there is anything similar in the nba along with cbb? The question is how some people use YPP In the NFL and college football, is there a certain way of using stats to get either over and under or sides using something similar to the YPP used in the nfl?

    Example would you be able to use the NBA'S points per point and determine somewhat of a projection on how much teams will score along with totals over/under?

    Any advice would be very much appreciated, thanks in advance

    much more ways to score in football than basketball, so any stat that solely measures offensive yardage as a function of efficiency or predicted score is doomed to fail

    football betting methodology is far more layered and intricate than basketball

      gator,

      A similar approach for NBA/NCAAB for totals looks at several factors:
      pace ratings for each team;
      and offensive/defensive efficiency ratings for each team.

      That will get you in the ball park.

      If you factor in strength of schedule factors to adjust efficiency ratings, you'll get even closer.

      Lastly, you need to understand the impact of injuries or roster changes on efficiency ratings.

      If you do all that, you won't necessarily win with your numbers, but you will get ones very close to what the bookmakers do.
