    The Handling of Sharps...
Has anybody ever been offered a deal (by a sportsbook) to stop betting?

I had my limits cut to next to zero at VIP, so I took that as my cue to leave. If a Book doesn't want a Sharp, they'll boot him or cut his limits. They are under no obligation to offer you a "deal".

The ones that don't boot winners do sometimes "hire" their sharp players in various ways to sharpen their lines.

Sharps get first shot at lines so the books can adjust. The limits aren't as high at that time.

Why would they make you a deal? Books that boot sharps just aren't sharp. End of storey.

At work, we use Stericycle to handle and dispose of our sharps.

Robyn obviously works in the nursing field.

Indirectly, she's right that "Sharps" is being too narrowly defined. They don't just beat you via jumping on opening lines. Sharps also win via same game parlays, "Wong" teasers and other +Ev bets. When Books identify such a player, and this is usually after he's made a significant profit, it's in the Books' interest to boot him.

I heard about sharps being offered jobs (by the sportsbooks) to stop betting. Comparable to card sharks in Vegas that Casinos actively hire to for security/anti-theft purposes.

I have had my limits lowered at two sportsbooks but have never been barred from playing or offered a "deal".
