    excel 2000 create button
Can anyone help me to create a button in an excel 2000 worksheet that would for example when clicking on it would perform a mathematical function such as divide 2 cells. Is there any way to do it without programming which I stink at.
    Thanks

    Divide two cells?

Just enter the formula, for example enter 10 in A1, 20 in A2 and enter this in B1:
    =A1/A2

Otherwise just google Excel macros or Excel VBA.

it will recalculate the answer every time you enter or change numbers, unless you turn it off to calculate only manually.
and that people only do when they have very big complex spreadsheets that might take time to calculate.

Formulawiz, how is it going? Use Excel help to learn what you can do using Control Toolbox. As a learning (or, maybe even reusable) example use the button in the attached file.

Data things are going good and how about you. I am trying to teach myself excel and the ex: you gave is exactly what I want to do. My question is how did you get th button to calculate the value of 4 when you clicked on it. Did you have to use any programming on the button.

Very good. No programming necessary. I used Control Toolbox to create the button. Then, I opened that button's code (VBA editor opens up automatically for this) and entered a simple function similar to the functions we use in cells to tech that button what to do. I cannot be more specific as I do not have Excel 2000.

Data thank you figured it out with your help. It looks when you add another command button you have to put the code in for the second button.
