    Sharp or overall?
Would it be better to bet with the sharp bettors or against the entire line movement?

I guess you can't trust what Vegas says public money is doing. You can only cap or simulate games and compare to opening lines?

Timing is everything. Best to be on sharp side BEFORE the line moves.

Oh I see, so all you have to do is have tens of thousands to bet on a game so Vegas will let you bet first before they move the line according to smart money once you get to be an insider..so simple

Not necessarily, rfr3sh is100% right. Of course, the slow moving book will eventually ban you for steam chasing, but git as much as you can while the gittins good.

best to beat the closing line no matter if you are 'with' or 'against' the 'sharps'

What about capping the game and then comparing your line with Vegas' opening line? Does side value work better or worse than steam chasing?

Both methods can be used. It's whatever you find to be consistent.

I find openers to be more profitable (and enduring) than chasing steam.
