Hello,
I was hesitant on making a new thread, but I couldn't really find what I was looking for in the history so here it is:
I have developed from scratch a spreadsheet that gives me good targets in baseball games. After some tinkering with my formulas, I mainly use each Pitchers attributes (power vs finesse, left vs right), each pitchers Home and Away ERAs, each teams OPS vs each attribute and each teams OPS vs whether they are home and away. With that is line movement.
I have much more success with baseball than I have had with football. Since football sees much more action, I would like to join the party.
While I do not post much here, I do lurk and have come to respect several notable posters as legit cappers. I am not asking for a golden egg. All I am asking for is this:
What are some comparable stats I can use and what sources are the best? baseball-reference gets everything done for me on the baseball side.
For example, I put a lot of weight on "like" opponents. Is there any source to find how a team's offense performs against 3-4 to 4-3, or man blitzing to zone blitzing? Or is this type of work why data mining is so important?
Thanks in advance
