I have it sitting on my shelf but haven't had time to read it yet. It seems solid from the little I have skimmed over it. I'll PM you or post here when I get some time and finish it.

Joe Dogs, Justin7 gave a good review of the book on amazon.. elihu feustel aka "daringly"

I thought the book was good but not as detailed as I'd hoped.. It contains some neat ways to use excel for handicapping, and might give you some ideas, but isn't very comprehensive.

i looked at the reviews on amazon, it doesn't seem like gold. either pass on this or try to get it for free. if money isn't an issue than if you bought it, it may seem like an "okay" read with maybe some tidbits of info that you can take with you.

it's an excellent book, but you need to go and download all of the spreadsheets so you can see what he is doing. i personally hate EXCEL and think it is a bane to constructive handicapping everywhere, but i am all for the math guys with higher degrees using their knowledge to build sports models. he is a math professor, not a gambler, but i found his chapters on NBA predicting techniques to be very useful in handicapping.

                    Math question ???

hi, i was hoping someone could help me. I'd like to know how and or the formula to find out where two numbers will meet. say for example you start with 7 and keep adding 7, and say you also start with 9 and keep adding 9. How do you figure out(using a formula when and where the 2 numbers meet the same total. such as this example would be 56, but i would like to know how to do this using more difficult numbers. also what branch of math would this be? any and all help is appreciated, and thank you for your help. . . .Suzy

First of all the answer to your example is 63, not 56.

You get the answer in the case where the two numbers are not multiples of each other by simply multiplying the numbers together. i.e. 9 times 7 = 63. In the case where one number is a multiple of the other, such as 7 and 21, the answer is the larger number of the two. i.e. 21

If everyone mastered 6th grade math, the sportsbooks would go bankrupt.

Are you smarter than a 5th grader? If yes sportsbooks don't want your business.
