#4Read every thread in the think tank.
There is just too much to teach someone like yourself who only has one post here and admits to being green on the subject, I would suggest reading many think tank threads and possibly a few books and than maybe come here and ask for further help understanding what you are learning.
Not many here who are interested in handing out free lessons to noobs, but most everybody here is willing to answer any questions you come across while you are self educating.
Nothing in sports gambling comes easy and if you are not willing to work hard to learn from the start you will not be successful long term.Comment -

#5Sharpcat I absolutely agree, Im not looking for an easy road or a hand out. Any good reads or websites just to get me started on the matter would be great. I tryed to search for EV, +EV, Expected Value) on the search forums and didnt really get anything to helpful.Comment -

#7Maverick to be honest with you I didnt come for hand outs. Wanting to learn more and gain a better knowledge is what led me to create my account now if you want to hate on me for asking questions and looking for this info then thats fine but please dont waste your time posting on my threadsComment -

#8Unless you have a college degree in math, you may find much of the stuff in the think tank alienating rather than insightful (the insight is there; just not in comprehensible language). So if you prefer the better books on the subject, this should get you started:
Sharp Sports Betting
Weighing The Odds In Sports Betting
Win More, Loose Less
and looking forward to this one:

#9About once a month we have a new thread in the tank from young hopeful handicappers with stars in their eyes because they heard somewhere that they could make money as a professional gambler and come here asking to be taught.
Here is the problem with this approach:
A) The more sharp players playing in the pool the less money to be made.
B) Many guys have worked very hard and lost many of dollars learning to be successful and are not going to just hand over valuable information to a guy who just joined the forum.
C) This is likely not going to end with just this one question.
I know it is frustrating to have people refuse to answer a question for you but realize that you are basically asking us to do your homework for you, and that is not going to happen.
My suggestions:
Sharp sports betting by: Stanford Wong
Weighing the odds by: King Yao
Educate yourself in mathematics
Read every thread in the think tank and when you are done read them all again.Comment -

#10i'm not hating on you.
You wanted someone to help you understand ev...but you didnt present what you did know. and if you did say you know nothing. you didnt ask where can i go to learn?
Dark Horse told you everything you need to know. The book by King Yao talks alot about EV
PS: Hating on you implies I am jealous...which simply is not true.Comment -

#12Nobody is hating on you, but reading through the forum and absorbing what it has to offer is the easiest most obvious thing to do...........when you come in here and ask a question like you did, pretty much everyone knows you didn't bother to read anything on the subject or begin digging on your own.
If you really want to learn, do everything Sharpcat suggested, I would also look for other forums that have content and look through those and see what you can piece together on your own.........if I was a betting man, and I am, I would bet, you probably won't do all of that and we won't see you back here.Comment -

#18No offense but the thought that you do not want to pay for a $15 highly educational book paired with the minimal effort you put towards educating yourself about EV does not look promising for your future as a handicapper. Handicapping is a forever evolving game that you need to be working on every day of your life looking for new angles to replace the ones that have gone and it appears to me like you are the type who is always looking for an easy way.
It is actually insulting that a guy puts a quality book out there that gives quality information that likely spoiled some quality +EV bets (teasers) and you want to go out there and steal the book from the man now.Comment -
