How would I go about approximating the ML value for a team if i calculate a spread (in soccer)? is there a tool anywhere for this

You need the total as well. I would look at Pinnacle's drop-down menu to get a feel for it.

Well Ive noticed today for example in the EPL there was two teams favoured by -0.25 and the total was also 2.25 in both games, so accordingly the ML values were the same. Is there a formula to calculate it or anything?

There is some quite good reading on this subject but I cannot locate it for the moment.
The relationship between spreads, totals and the 12X odds varies quite a bit from league to league.

Rather than using Pinnacle, I would suggest that you compile a database using the (no vig) odds and spreads from ExtraBet. They are a specialist in true spread betting (as opposed to Asian Handicap).
