My thoughts are that teams not making the playoff starts to play less defense and focusing on just offense, allowing more points in general.

A match-up between two crappy teams with nothing to win seems like a streetgame with lots of hoops!

I would play the Knicks over every game the rest of the way. Almost every player is playing for his next contract and cares only about stats. Defense won't matter too much anymore (as if it ever did for D'Antoni). I don't expect to see too many Knicks taking charges.

You are correct; books can adjust the line, it is really not that hard.
