    Anyone track Grand Salami
    or the like?

scoring results will not remain static. scoring averages will alter over 10 or 15 day periods.

at the end of the season, i am sure every team will fall within a tight range relative to O/U numbers. however, nightly results will not. there are going to be nights if 10 games are played that some go 2-8 O/U and others when it is 8-2 O/U.

does anyone follow scoring avgs or the results of betting total points for all games played? i am guessing a sine wave result like an average Stock Price.

I tracked it manually for about 30 days one time. Gave up because it's too much time. If I was to do it again I would write a web scraper to log the line and the result each day.

From what I can tell, it is totally random and there is not a good way to predict the outcome. I look at it like roulette.

thanks guys. just thought if you took the season scoring avg for the NHL, the totals would be near it. however, throughout the season, there will be periods of increased and decreased scoring. maybe a two week period or so where it gets enough out of whack that a regression to the mean could be expected.

Salamis are about knowing now to translate from the individual O/U numbers to the O/U for the games combined, then looking for books that get it wrong. Like any such line, having a good formula to calculate them daily can find you some good value from time to time if you also know where to look.
