    Soccer lines like -0.3
I was looking at some soccer lines and see some of them have fractional values. For instance, Eupen -0.3 +112. I think I know what this means (and how it would be different than Eupen -0.5), but would like someone who really knows explain it.

Note: this would be similar to a total score bet of let's say 2.8.

For fixed odds betting or asian handicap, the handicap values go up in quarters i.e.

    0
    -0.25
    -0.50
    -0.75

    etc.

In the case of of -0.75, this can also be expressed as -0.50 and -1-0, whereby half your stake goes on at -0.5 and half at -1.0.

The only time you will see a value like -0.30 is in spread betting. In spread betting if you bet $200 at -0.30 and your team wins by 2, you would win 1.7 x $200 = $340 and if the match was drawn you would lose 0.30 x $200 = $60

Should "your team wins by 2" be "should your team wins by 1"? Seems to me if they win by 2 you would win the whole bet.

In the case of a spread bet, then:

        If your team wins by 1, you win 0.7 x $200 = $140
        If your team wins by 2, you win 1.7 x $200 = $340
        If your team wins by 3, you win 2.7 x $200 = $540

        If your team loses by 1, you lose 1.3 x $200 = $260
        etc.

This is a totally different type of bet than an Asian handicap but is the only type that you will see a spread like 0.3

Is 0.3, supposed to be 0.75?

              -.3 +112 should mean 0, -0.5 +112

Yeah, I've seen a handful of books list -.25 as -.3 for whatever weird reason. I guess they can't be bothered to add an extra digit, kind of like the old school bookies who'll list an NBA total of un193 as "under 93."
