How many games is optimal to play per night? I'm thinking anywhere from 1-5 but could be way off? Anyone have any statistics on number of games played and profit earned? Thanks.

You should bet whenever you have an edge. Sometimes this will mean playing 20-30 things on the same day, sometimes it will mean playing 0.

I agree on the low end of 0-5 . If your purely betting with capping, and your a 1 man crew I doubt you have the time/energy to do a decent enough job to get a 10-20 game capped with positive +EV on all of them.

how bout for a system I have
usually most every game applies but I never want to lay out that much risk
however the ones I play seem to lose and when i count up the ones I thought about I woulda been making 70%

As much as you want. If you see a ton of good stuff, bet your whole bankroll if need be. Just make sure you have discipline at doing this.

Bet any game that you feel is off by 3 pts. or more in basketball or nfl .
Bet any game that you feel is off by 30 cents or more in baseball.
However, this becomes boring because you won't find many games to play.
When you do ,they will be quality picks.
These rules apply to only short priced games.
                  Patience,perserverance,discipline. good luck!!!!

as it was said as many games as it takes as long as you have and edge, but never bet more that 10% of your bankroll

Not true, I have had close to 100% of my BR in play before (over 30+ events of course).

sorry LT but i think that is bad bankroll managed, there is a 0.00000001% that you could lose all bets , I think more that 10% of the BR is very agreesive betting , if i bet 30events in one night i would go with something like 0.33% for a bet ,this would let sleep at night, , I cant believe that you would be calm and in good spirit if you lose something like 30% of your BR in a single night.

Without knowing how many of the bets were arbs/middles/hedges you can't say it's poor bankroll management. In fact, using Kelly I'd love to have 100% of my bankroll in play every night for maximum +EG.

Most of my plays are for 2.5% of BR, and I would have no problem having 100% in play over 40 plays at exactly 2.5%.

                              No arbs/hedges, all straight plays.

LT is right here, if you follow the no more than a certain number of plays, %, ect that just means that you know you are going to lose, and you are delaying the inevitable. You might as well start to look for something new before you do go broke.

you want to bet as many bets as possible (assuming of course you have a positive expectation). more bets -> less daily BR volatility -> steadier BR growth.

you can write a book on this topic alone, and it very much depends on your method and how closely you track your results.

                                    so: it depends...

yes depends on the person but i still think with all of your bankroll in play, one day it will be all gone(lets hope not)
I like my bankroll with zero% of bankrupt
