    Looking for NHL data
    Hey guys,

I've been searching online for a better source of NHL game data for the current season, but have been unsuccessful. I currently use the game log data from NHL.com, which is pretty good, but what I really want is a breakdown of activity by period. I know I can collect the data manually if needed, but I'd prefer not to spend time with that unnecessarily. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks

I have a question about NHL data as well.

I am curious of the push frequencies in Regulation Time for 2-2 and 3-3. (If possible as a function of total line but I belive that it doesnt matter all that much. I also relize that it is influenced by how even the teams are, if anyone got any idea of how big this effect is then feel free to contribute )

I calculated these push frequencies to:
    2-2~ 6,5% (for total line around 5-5,5)
    3-3~ 5% (for total line around 5,5-6,5
    for even teams using poission.

Can anyone tell me how well this correlates to reality?

I decided it wasn't all that much work to just go out and grab the data myself, so I did it last night. Tedious...

      Ominous:

      Games going past regulation = 40 games = 24.4%
      Decided in OT = 16 games = 9.8%
      Decided by SO = 24 games = 14.6%

      Push score 2-2 = 14 games = 8.5%
      Push score 3-3 = 15 games = 9.2%

Push stats include both OT & SO. Data is current through Oct 28 games.
