    Need Help Defining.
Ok I've been calling what I am doing a system, a computer model, a program, what the hell is it actually? All I am doing is using data to create an estimated line for each game. Then comparing the actual lines to my estimated lines with a practiced minimum deferential to eliminate games and narrow down my potential selection. From that point it's based on research, situtations, and other factors. I understand the latter part of what I'm doing but what technically is my initial portion called?

It's not that I am overly vain I just don't want to sound like a total idiot when trying to explain what I am doing is called. Plus I want to once and for all give it a title and quit calling it different things at different times. I could call it a Wally but I'm saving that for when I hot 70% for the season. lol

Personally, I would call it a model.

Sounds like a model followed by a system to me. I don't think it matters all that much.

It's a model, but if you want to make people think you really know your shit, call it a "blackbox".

how 'bout: Al-Gore-rythm? As in the Global Warming hoax?

"Our models show in 100 years we'll be +4 degrees across the globe." Yeah, right. If you're that good, tell me who will win in the SD/KC game today (I'm on KC+5). By the way, how come you can't explain the sunspot phemon?

...jokes asides, everything I do is really a system of models and checklists of things for me to check/confirm.

huh? I have always been either wal66 or lilwal. Never heard of that site. I am a member of this site and four others all under the wal66 nic. I retired lilwal begining of last football season. As for leading anyone anywhere it's simply not happening. I try to help where I can and learn as I go.

I think your model should be called Correlation Of Varying Exponential Range model because it sounds like something extremely complicated(although it makes no sense) and using the first letter of each word it would spell COVER. We all know that the best models always have good acronyms right? haha and your followers will soon worship it as the COVER model... the rest is history

To me this 'blackbox' inmplies no knowledge of sports or modelling and you just plug numbers in to get numbers out. Not a good name imo.

Thanks for your help guys. I can see where it could be called many different things. I imput data like it's a model and use it like a filter. I think the main problem is I'm not experienced enough on the technical side of things to really know what I'm doing or why it's working. I guess the fact it's working should be enough and if it's just dumbluck that I stumbled into creating it should be my lil secret.

I enjoy this thing we do but I respect the hell out of you techies that comprehend what it is you're doing.
