Looking for a huge archive of game lines
Wondering what might be out there to enhance my modeling efforts.

Ideally, I would love HUGE spreadsheets of lines - going through seasons day-by-day with all the games - sides and totals - with key line movements - going back for years. MLB is my priority but the more sports the better.

The specific sportsbook is not as important as that it be consistent.

    I'm looking for a mega-massive compilation.

Anyone have any leads on something like that?

          Key word is: compilation.

SBR Odds has great base data - but what I'm asking about is a compilation. I'm trying to save myself literally years of unbelievably tedious compiling.

Unless there is a big thing like that here and I'm just looking in the wrong place.

You have to build a scrapper. Some of the features you want will be very difficult:

Key line movements are going to be supremely difficult unless you are an experienced programmer. A straight scrapper will read the final webpage, and you have to code to pull specific information. You would need it to to click on the individual boxes, pull up the second page, compute the changes in lines, and then save that info.

The other stuff is not too bad. I am going to build something like that in the next few weeks ( get open and closing lines). Will post it here when complete.

Are you looking to pay tens of thousands of dollars for the info? Or anywhere close to what this information is worth?

There was an outfit that had what I am looking for ~15 years ago. I wish I could remember the name. They're probably not around anymore anyway. I've tried describing them a million different ways on google but no luck finding them or an equivalent.

The thing was, the actual database was not even considered a product. I believe they were mainly just publishing sports articles which routinely referenced simple trends.

But they had this big database sitting there. I found out about it and inquired. The owner seemed confused why anyone would even want it and he gave me unlimited access for, I believe it was 50 bucks.

Anyway that was some time ago and I used it for awhile then went on to other ventures. Stuff got lost. Memory fades. Now I'm back thinking about it - and here we are.

I would pay whatever reasonable price (subject to inspection for integrity yada yada).

                I appreciate the feedback.

It's very difficult to find historical data like this. For example, last year I got an infraction for offering for old Super Bowl Sheets. I wanted to go back about 20 years. The sheets, for example, with all bets from a place like the Westgate Superbook. Its almost like a thick little packet of papers every year. I hunted for a while to no avail. I even called a few shops in Vegas that sell lots of information like that, and even they didn't have old sheets (was convinced the one historical shop would have them but they didn't keep them for some reason) I found some things on EBay, but only maybe one SB from years back. I, would still, like this information for a Super Bowl study. If you happen to look elsewhere, then PM me and maybe we can both search and help each other.

I did end up finding one web site that I got like 3 SB's from as well. Just not 20 years back, and not even for the game I was looking for in specific either. If you do enough looking around and use different search engines too, you might fall into something.

Hmm. I wonder if we're talking about the same thing. I don't think there's anything controversial or infractional about what I'm looking for. It's all stuff that's right here at SBR - but compiled.

Thanks for the tip on Vegas Insider. I'll take a look.

KOstats.com has what you are looking for. I think the archived data goes back 25 years. Listed price is $900 for the whole database but perhaps you can work a deal.

I took a quick look at KO Stats. I have more questions than answers right now so I'll have to do a deeper dive. That's not a bad thing though - it looks promising.

Thanks for the tip Mr. Ed.
