I looked through NASCAR forum and seems pretty dead and guess it is boring to many players. I'm in VA and NASCAR is big as a sport and as more and more people turn to online wagering, the action is picking up as well. Most books just have ML and few have matchups (usually with a line attached). However the street bookies all put out the same proposition play (collusion I suppose), whereby they put out a team of 4-5 drivers, and the player can chose that team against the rest of the field or vice versa. How do I calculate how much to put on the rest of the field with the local vs. how much to put on the money lines at the book of each driver to guarantee a positive result?

#2there is so much juice in NASCAR outright markets that it is highly unlikely you'd be able to make a profit betting all of them, either individually or in groups. US books are thieves when it comes to bets in big fields - they just put up bad percentages and leave them, and focusing on the tight margins of the matchups and game betting. And almost all of them post the same set of prices - it's not collusion, they just all pay someone else to form their odds.
You'll find some NASCAR betting tips here - covers.com/sports/nascar/nascar_main.aspx
Seriously, unless the street guys you can bet with are going broke, then if you spent $1000 covering all options, you'd probably only get $800 back, that's how big the margins are.
Post some odds for the next race and I'll show you...Comment -

#3Nascar margins do tend to be high, and handicapping Nascar is extremely low. Bet with caution unless you have good inside info on someone or their car.PickingProsComment -

#4"handicapping Nascar is extremely low"
What do you mean by that? Not many people do it, you're a mug if you do, or something else?
High-margin low-interest sports can be some of the best betting events of the lot. It generally means bookies do less homework and there are less sharps out there smacking the lines into place. Just do your homework better than anyone else and make sure you understand the maths.Comment
